Restoring Hope and Healing for Veterans and others suffering with PTSD

THE MISSION:

PTSD affects millions of people — including veterans who have given so much for our country. The invisible wounds of trauma often lead to silence, isolation, and, tragically, even suicide. In fact, veterans die by suicide at a rate about 50% higher than non-veteran adults.

Founded by 2 Veterans, Renewed Hope Canines of Virginia exists to bring comfort and healing to those in need through the unique bond between humans and dogs. Our mission is to glorify God by training and placing service dogs with veterans and individuals living with PTSD or other disabilities — fostering healing, renewed hope, and purpose. Rooted in faith and compassion, we believe no one should walk their journey alone. By pairing highly-trained service dogs with individuals facing past trauma, PTSD, and recovery challenges, we aim to bring renewed hope and a brighter tomorrow.

A service dog can be a lifeline: interrupting panic attacks, waking someone from nightmares, and reminding them in every moment — “You are not alone.”

This mission is about more than training dogs. It’s about saving lives, restoring dignity, and walking beside those who feel forgotten. Your support is helping us prepare our very first puppy for training, with the goal of bringing light and life to someone who needs it most. 🐾
